Meditation: October 1, 2008
As much as Ephesians emphasizes the inner life of the believer and the great power that works in him, this holy book also teaches the inevitable result this inner life has on the life of the believer. It transforms marital relationships, family relationships, and labaor/management relationships. {See Ephesians 5 and 6} The Christian who can sing and make melody in his heart, can live in thankfulness, and humbly submits his life to the services of others, is a formidable opponent to the power of the devil and all his wiles. The Christian is therefore instructed to put on all the armor of God so that he can stand against all the wiles of the devil, not being overcome with evil, but overcoming evil with good. Amen and Amen.
Prayer Requests, October, 2008
- Pray for all faithful ministers of the Gospel who suffer from those who set themselves against the truth of the Gospel.
- Pray for the mission work of the RCUS: missions at Greeley, in the Congo, for Tom Mayville in the Knox Seminary in Uganda, for MERF, and faithful preachers throughout the world.
- Pray for those persecuted for Christ in all lands, that they would be protected in lives and property from the devices of evil men who hate Christ. That God would bless their witness even by the conversion to Christ of those who hate Him. Jesus came to save sinners and to save even those at enmity with Him if they repent and believe the Gospel. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in all lands.
- Pray that God would bless and give wisdom to the leaders of our city, county, state, and nation; that God would give us moral and godly people in authority, that would seek the good of the nation and not their own power and wealth.
- Front Range churches: Jon Blair at Greeley, Matt Powell at Limon
